Cristiano Ronaldo is working hard to return to the football field after a recent muscle injury. He is using a high-tech recovery device that costs around $6,000. The Portugal captain has been sidelined since February 28 after injuring his right thigh while playing for Al-Nassr.
The 39-year-old forward is focusing on a fast recovery to return to action as soon as possible. The injury occurred during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha on February 28. Since then, Ronaldo has been undergoing treatment and recovery, sharing updates with fans on social media while working with specialists in Madrid.
On March 8, Ronaldo posted a photo that drew fans’ attention. In the image, he wore a large recovery boot covering his entire leg. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the device is called Cryo Sport equipment, designed to help muscles recover faster after strain or fatigue. Reports indicate Ronaldo hopes to return before the end of March if his recovery progresses well.

The recovery device Ronaldo displayed is part of a system aimed at accelerating athlete healing. The Cryo Sport equipment focuses on muscle recovery by cooling muscles and reducing swelling and cramps.
According to the brand’s official website, the device costs around €5,497 (approximately $6,346). It is promoted through AVACR7, a partnership between Ronaldo’s personal brand CR7 and the recovery company Advanced Recovery for Athletes (AVA). Ronaldo is also reportedly an investor in the project.
The brand was founded by Brazilian entrepreneur Rodrigo Santana. Devices like this are commonly used by professional athletes to help muscles relax and recover after intense physical exertion. Some football teams also use similar technology to keep players fit during long seasons.
Ronaldo is believed to be aiming for a return later this month. Portugal has two friendly matches scheduled: against Mexico on March 29 and the United States on March 31. If his recovery continues positively, the veteran striker hopes to be fit for these games.
However, some uncertainty remains about his return. Al-Nassr head coach Jorge Jesus recently provided an update on Ronaldo’s injury. Speaking to A Bola, Jesus said: After undergoing tests, it became clear that the injury was more serious than anticipated, requiring rest and recovery. The injury requires treatment in Madrid with the professional who works with Cristiano. We hope he returns quickly to help the team.
Reports suggest Ronaldo may need around four weeks to fully recover, meaning he could miss a few more matches before returning to the pitch. Despite this, Ronaldo remains focused on regaining full fitness. He continues to be a key leader for Portugal as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which could be the final World Cup of his long and historic career.
